Dear Parents,

     We welcome your child to the Community Day Care Center.  With home and school working together harmoniously we can make this new experience in his/her life a pleasant one.  The Day Care is designed to help the child in his mental, emotional, social, physical, and spiritual development.

Mission Statement

The Centers Missions is to offer quality child care to children whom we serve.  We strive to maintain a program where children and families from all religious, racial and ethnic backgrounds will find an environment that embraces their similarities and differences.  Our goal is to give children a variety of experiences which will help them to develop their mental, physical, social, emotional as well as their spiritual potential.  We offer a play based atmosphere where children learn best through their daily experiences.  We think children learn best in an informal setting where we guide the children in their play.  We follow the Creative Curriculum and use the Foundations to the Indiana Academic Standards for Young Children from Birth to Age 5 which align with the Indiana Kindergarten Standards to show how children learn through play.  We believe in using a guidance approach to discipline children.  Our staff uses techniques that will help children to take responsibility for their actions.

Level Two Certification

The standards for Paths to QUALITY are consistent but tailored for family child care homes and for licensed centers and unlicensed registered ministries. Paths to QUALITY is a system where each level builds on the foundation of the previous one, resulting in significant quality improvements at each stage and resulting in national accreditation at the highest level. The system validates programs and providers for ongoing efforts to achieve higher standards of quality and provides incentives and awards for success. The four levels address:

• Level One: Health and safety needs of children met.
• Level Two: Environment supports children’s learning.
• Level Three: Planned curriculum guides child development and school readiness.
• Level Four: National accreditation (the highest indicator of quality) is achieved.
